The WMSD Organization is a non profit 501 (c) (3) organization based in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. The firm was founded in July, 2003 to address the growing incidence of repetitive motion musculoskeletal disorders. Arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders affect 1 in 3 people; with a growing number of people experiencing symptoms due to repetitive or strenuous activities. The firm is committed to reviewing the most current research and related information about musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics.

The WMSD Organization’s goal is to provide people with education so they may make informed decisions with their doctor or health professional, about how to prevent repetitive motion musculoskeletal disorders and work without injury.

Board of Directors

Kristen Boie, Executive Director and Secretary: Kristen Boie, founder, has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Bryant University and a Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Rhode Island. Kristen has over 10 years experience in sales, customer service, marketing and philanthropy. Kristen is an advocate for the Arthritis Foundation and has been actively involved in many volunteer and charitable causes throughout the state. As a patient who has suffered for more than 10 years with rheumatoid arthritis and discoid lupus, she understands what it is like to live with a musculoskeletal disease.

Kerri Fortin, President: Kerri has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in school psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology from Rhode Island College. Kerri also has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. Kerri is a practicing school psychologist and is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) as well as a member of the Rhode Island School Psychologists Association (RISPA).

Martina Zepter, Vice-President: Martina has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Marketing from Bryant University, a Master’s of Business Administration in International Business from Johnson & Wales University and her Bachelor’s degree is from Constance College, Germany. Martina has over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing and customer service. She worked for companies in the USA, Germany and France. Currently she is employed as assistant manager for marketing and sales at Gutter Helmet located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Jennifer Sears, Treasurer: Jen has a Master’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Rhode Island. Jen is employed by Meditech, a medical software vendor, located in Westwood, Massachusetts.

James Brennan, Director: James has a Master's of Business Administration degree from Bryant University and a Bachelor's degree in accounting from Bridgewater State College. James has over 12 years of accounting experience in service, wholesale, retail, and manufacturing industries. James is currently employed as the Chief Financial Officer at Direx Systems Corp., an international medical equipment manufacturing located in Natick, Massachusetts with headquarters in Isreal.

Dave DePasquale, Director: David has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Bryant University and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts. David has 15 years experience working in operations and development, with the past 5 years dedicated in customer assurance. David is currently employed as the Principle Engineer and Customer Assurance Group Manager for Waters Corporation located in Milford, Massachusetts.
